Advanced design and total quality craftsmanship make this double surface planer a valuable addition to any production facility. Double Surface Planers allow simple and affordable surfacing solutions to both cabinet furniture factories as well as Lumber and Dimensional Mills.

Constant attention to details, improved engineering standards, quality control, and innovative cutterhead technology have allowed the CANTEK Industrial Double Surfacer to become America’s #1 selling planer. Advanced features, high tolerances, ease of maintenance & calibration provide a surfacer that is easily cost justified by one shift operations, but rugged enough to handle the demands of higher speed three shift production lines.

Features:

Rugged cast iron and plate steel fabrication provide long term dependability and low maintenance.

Infeed conveyor/carpet (spiked) allows precision jointing accuracy especially on warped or twisted lumber.

Computerized top cutterhead positioner is accurate ±0.001" ensuring quick and accurate setup.

Cutterhead tooling technology guarantees low noise, reduced power requirements, minimal operations cost, and repetitive finish on the most difficult hardwoods.

Variable feed speeds up to 95'/min but frequency inverter allow the CANTEK double surfacer to meet high production demands.

Patented lifting column system (synchronized transmission) guarantees repetitive setup and long-term dependability.

Patented universal drive transmission for feed groups and infeed carpet allows a maintenance free design vs. chain and sprocket style feed systems. Also provides a "constant" feeding environment of materials for improved and constant finish.

Cutterheads are of solid steel construction, dynamically balanced and mated with precision pulleys.

Cutterheads are supported by "NKS" class 7 precision ball bearings and precision housings.

Chromed bed is standard on all CANTEK double surfacers yielding optimum wear.

New guards and skirts provide comprehensive operator safety.

PRECISE ELEVATION

Unlike the conventional chain drive systems, this machine employs a patented synchronized transmission system along the four lifting columns. This system ensures long term parallelism of cutterheads and machine table. (Patented)

FLEXIBLE TRANSMISSION SHAFT

Eliminating the conventional chain or belt drive which may cause power loss or accuracy problems. The transmission system is directly driven by flexible shafts for high accuracy and full power transmission.

CAST TABLE WITH HEAVY CHROME PLATING

All CANTEK surfacer beds are constructed of the highest grades of cast iron, heat treated, precision ground, then heavily chromed and polished. We guarantee the heaviest chrome plating of any importer. Heavy chrome plating provides incredible wear and friction free flow of materials and very low wear.

INDUSTRIAL PULLEY & DRIVE BELT DESIGN

All CANTEK Industrial Double Surface cutterheads are driven by dynamically balanced pulleys and tooth style drive belts ensuring maximum power transmission and zero vibration. The 610 series calls for up to (6) “V” belts on top and (6) on bottom cutterheads. The 820/1000 series employs 8 belts to each cutterhead.

BOTTOM CUTTERHEAD MAINTENANCE CARRIAGE

Cutterhead carriage allows access to bottom cutterhead in 1-2 minutes. Quick access facilitates knife changing and quick change of damaged knives. Also allows bottom cutterhead bearings to be replaced in minutes.

DIGITAL LUBRICATION/OILERS

The spike system is constantly lubricated by a dependable electronic oiler ensuring maximum chain and bearing life. China branch NC digital oiler allows variable adjustment of volume and frequency of oil flow for all feed rates and surfacing conditions.

SPIKE CONVEYOR FOR HIGHLY CALIBRATED THICKNESS AND CONSTANT FEEDING

By allowing the spike/fingers to float as much as 3/4″, the ultimate design in lumber straightening is employed. With flat bottom surface to reference from, the top cutterhead work is guaranteed to be precisely calibrated and flat. The spikes also do an excellent job of feeding extremely rough and tapered lumber.

REAR EMERGENCY STOP CONTROL

Additional emergency switch at outfeed/rear of planer provides quick access to shut machine down. Emergency mushroom button is also standard on front control panel.

CONTROL CABINET

All electrical controls are neatly positioned in a remote dust proof cabinet. CANTEK employs highest technology available in all electrical components. All components are UL approved for U.S. installations. Y Delta start up allows soft start of all cutterhead and feed motors.
